Currency: Our currency is UK Sterling. You can easily exchange foreign currency at most airports, post offices, major banks, and some hotels throughout the region. ATMs are also widely available, and many accept international cards for convenient cash withdrawals. Electric voltage: The UK operates on a standard voltage of 230 volts AC, with a frequency of 50 Hz. Electrical sockets are designed to fit Type G plugs, which have three rectangular prongs. Visitors from outside the UK may require a transformer and plug, which can be bought at airports, electrical suppliers and some pharmacies.
